Establish the desired swing plane angle by matching your alignment stick + FlexStick assembly to the lie angle of the golf club.
Goodstick Ultimate Base Plate Shown (Sold Separately)
Extend the FlexStick towards the target and lay an alignment stick on the turf to establish both target line and a reference point for ball position relative to the FlexStick assembly.
Position yourself to contact the FlexStick bristles with the head of your golf club to confirm plane/ path . PRO TIP: Place a tee or marker as a reference point for optimal ball position and distance from the FlexStick.
FAULTS AND FIXES
The FlexStick is designed to provide a comfortable margin of error for many popular alignment stick configurations.
FAULT: Backswing club path too far outside.
FIX: Setup the FlexStick for obstruction contact just outside the desired position. Make a backswing without the shaft/ clubhead making contact with the FlexStick bristles to confirm correct path.
Pro Tip: Always establish a ball position reference point using an alignment stick laid flat on the turf.
FAULT: Hands and club on-top of the plane through impact.
Fix: Setup the FlexStick even with the golf ball at address and with your hands positioned 2-3" inside the FlexStick bristles. Hit balls without your hands making contact with the FlexStick.
PRO TIP: This drill/set-up can be done at full-speed
FAULT: Backswing club path to far to the inside.
FIX: Setup the FlexStick for obstruction contact just inside of the ideal position. Make a backswing without the shaft/ clubhead making contact with the FlexStick bristles to confirm desired path/plane.
Pro Tip: Setup the Flexstick first and then "back into" the ideal position and establish a ball position reference point on the turf.
SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE
ADJUSTING THE FLEXSTICK
Always store your FlexStick in the storage tube to prevent the bristles from becoming damaged/ deformed.
The FlexStick is intended for use in obstruction based drills and the bristle is capable of withstanding reasonable levels of contact. Deliberate and excessive contact will deform and damage bristle material.
USE CAUTION: THE FLEXSTICK WAS DESIGNED POSITIONAL FEEDBACK FOR THE GOLF SWING . IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO MAKE SWINGS AT LIMITED SPEED WHILE USING THE FLEXSTICK. TAKING FULL SPEED SWINGS WHILE USING THE FLEXSTICK CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY
INCREASE BRISTLE RIGIDITY AND CONTACT RESPONSE BY SLIDING RUBBER THE GROMMETS TOWARDS THE LOOSE END OF THE BRISTLES.
DECREASE BRISTLE RIGIDITY AND LESSEN CONTACT RESPONSE BY SLIDING RUBBER GROMMETS TOWARDS THE BASE OF THE BRISTLES
